Two ways to be accepted
Forbes Councils works through an application. A selection committee looks at each applicant, and approved people are invited to choose and buy a membership package. That is a human judgment, and it means the outcome depends on what the committee decides. You find out after you apply, not before.
Entruv replaces judgment with a repeatable test. Our crawler loads your page over HTTPS and looks for one anchor wrapping one image. If it is there and visible, the record publishes. If it is not, you see which check failed. Two founders with the same setup get the same result, and nobody has to approve you.
Why the price is hard to compare
Forbes Councils does not publish its fees on its website. Third party blogs report annual dues from about $1,500 to $5,000 depending on the council, with one source giving $1,500 to $2,500 and another $2,500 to $5,000 for the Communications Council. No initiation fee turned up in those sources. Treat all of this as an estimate and ask for the real number during your application.
Entruv is simple by comparison. The listing costs nothing. If you want the gold badge, a certificate and a place on the Wall of Truth, you pay $39 once. Over several years the gap between a yearly membership and a single payment grows, but they are not the same product, so cost alone should not decide it.
What a badge on your site really proves
The Entruv badge sits on your own website, and a crawler found it there. That proves control of the site and nothing more. It does not say anything about your revenue, your team or your reputation, and we do not claim it does.
A membership in a paid community can signal other things, such as the benefits Forbes Councils lists for members. If those are what you want, Entruv does not offer them. The two can sit side by side: you can hold a council seat and still claim your Entruv record as a neutral, checkable record of your domain.
Questions
How much does Forbes Councils cost?
- Forbes Councils does not publish its fees. Third party sources report annual dues of roughly $1,500 to $5,000 depending on the council. These are estimates, and approved applicants see current pricing during the application, so confirm with Forbes Councils.
Is Entruv a replacement for Forbes Councils?
- No. They do different jobs. Forbes Councils is a paid membership reviewed by a committee. Entruv is a public registry that shows you control a website. Some founders will want both.
Does Entruv have a committee?
- No. Publishing depends on a check that your own site carries the Entruv badge link. Our crawler does not run JavaScript, so the link must be in the HTML your server sends.
What do I get for the one time payment?
- For $39 once, the badge on your site turns gold and reads VERIFIED ENTREPRENEUR. You also get a listing on the industry and city registry pages, a place on the Wall of Truth, a certificate with a QR code and an embeddable trust widget. The payment is final, see the refund policy.
Does a badge on my site help my search rankings?
- We make no promise about rankings, traffic or sales. The badge link on your own site is an ordinary followed link, and our profile page links to your site with rel nofollow ugc.
